How does your dealer compare?

I recently had to buy some items from a Stamp ‘Dealer’ on Ebay.

I was rather disappointed and even somewhat surprised by the overall experience.

Upon checkout I was confronted by the usual ‘Terms and Conditions’ for Stamp ‘Dealers’ on Ebay nowadays

“PLEASE NOTE Proof of Posting is obtained for every package sent and I cannot be held liable for any lost packages. Should a package go missing I will send you the Proof of Posting Slip so that you can make a claim from Royal Mail.”

What? The seller is responsible for safe delivery.

Anyway I did not have a alternative in this case and I went ahead and purchased – The item duly arrived 2nd Class (Blue Machin) in flimsy envelope.

Not particularly inspiring for a Stamp Collector !

We:-

Send your items 1st Class securely packed in board-backed envelope and add insurance/tracking at our expense where required.

Put them in stamp ‘carriers’

Enclose the original receipts (where relevant- e.g. Post and Go Issues)

Use modern GB stamps on the envelope (and get them nicely cancelled)

and fully insure them against loss- we are responsible for getting your items to you – no one else!

And of course your items are covered by a ‘no quibble’ return guarantee – if you don’t want them simply return for a full refund.
